Severe weather warnings issued across Australia
Severe weather warnings have been issued across multiple Australian regions due to incoming cold fronts and thunderstorms.
In New South Wales, the Bureau of Meteorology warned of damaging northwesterly winds affecting the Hunter Valley and Newcastle. Wind gusts are expected to peak at approximately 90km/h during the afternoon. The NSW State Emergency Service has advised residents to secure outdoor items and monitor conditions as the front moves toward the coast.
In South Australia, a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Adelaide, the Mount Lofty Ranges, and several surrounding districts, including the Mid North and Murraylands. Heavy rainfall associated with these storms has raised the risk of flash flooding in areas such as Clare, Gawler, and Victor Harbor. Previous warnings for the state also highlighted damaging winds of up to 100km/h in the Flinders Ranges and various peninsulas.
