Severina discusses twelve-year custody battle and new music
Croatian singer Severina has opened up about her long-standing legal battle for custody of her son, describing a twelve-year period of court proceedings that she characterized as a traumatic experience. During an interview on the Slovenian program Popkast, she noted that the legal world felt like a foreign environment that was not her true life.
Severina stated that the extensive litigation provided her with significant legal knowledge, to the point where her lawyer, Čedo Prodanović, jokingly remarked she had nearly passed the bar exam. She also shared her perspective on the regional judicial system, alleging that she encountered corruption and inconsistencies in witness testimonies during her cases.
In addition to discussing her personal struggles and battles with anxiety, the singer introduced her new musical trilogy. The project, which includes songs titled ‘Anxious’, ‘Silent’, and ‘Perfect’, serves as a form of therapy and a way to combat creative stagnation.
