Sevi Voloudaki addresses road access in Apokoronas
Sevi Voloudaki, Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum and MP for Chania, met with Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas to discuss access issues for the Apokoronas settlements during the upgrading of the Northern Road Axis of Crete (BOAK).
Voloudaki highlighted the difficulties residents face in their daily movements, particularly around the Agioi Panton junction. She emphasized that while the BOAK project is a vital investment for Crete's development and road safety, its implementation must respect the needs of local communities by ensuring functional connections and minimizing hardship.
During the meeting, officials discussed temporary traffic and technical adjustments to facilitate resident access throughout the construction period. A technical meeting involving relevant services and stakeholders will be organized to conduct an on-site assessment and determine the most appropriate interventions.
