Sevierville to launch Dolly Parton walking tour

A new self-guided walking tour titled ‘In Dolly’s Footsteps’ is set to launch on October 16, 2026, in downtown Sevierville, Tennessee. The free experience is designed to highlight the early life and hometown history of country music legend Dolly Parton.

The tour features nine historic locations, including the former theater where Parton held her first paid performance, Red’s Café, and the site of the iconic Dolly Parton statue. Each stop is marked by a granite-and-bronze marker that shares stories, photographs, and videos related to her journey from her youth to her rise to fame.

According to Amanda Marr, director of marketing and communications for the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce, the initiative aims to share Parton’s hometown story with a global audience while preserving the spirit of the community she grew up in.
