Sevilla FC concludes summer transfer window with key signings and departures

Sevilla FC's sporting director, José Ignacio Navarro, has provided a detailed assessment of the club's summer transfer window, characterizing the overall balance as positive despite financial constraints.

Key moves included the arrival of French midfielder Youssouf Fofana on a one-season loan, a strategic acquisition valued at 23 million euros intended to strengthen the defensive pivot. The club also managed the departure of the player Oso to Strasbourg for 10 million euros, a move Navarro noted was facilitated by the player's desire to ensure a transfer rather than leaving for free.

However, the window also saw missed opportunities due to LaLiga's strict salary cap regulations. A planned deal to sign Swedish attacker Isak Bjerkebo from IK Sirius for approximately 4 million euros was blocked because the club could not finalize the sale of Rubén Vargas to Olympiacos, as the Greek club's offer fell short of Sevilla's 15 million euro valuation. Overall, the club reported eleven arrivals and ten departures, successfully reducing the squad's average age by four years.
