Sevilla FC reshuffles goalkeepers as Alberto Flores departs and Fran González signs
Sevilla FC coach Luis García Plaza started 22‑year‑old Alberto Flores in a pre‑season friendly in the Netherlands, opting for him over regular starter Odysseas Vlachodimos. The decision signalled that Flores, who has struggled for minutes, is likely to leave the club, with a loan to a Segunda División side being the most probable outcome.
At the same time, Sevilla completed the signing of 21‑year‑old goalkeeper Fran González from Real Madrid. He has agreed to a contract until 2031, while Real Madrid retains 50 % of his economic rights and a future buy‑back option. González will compete with Vlachodimos for the starting spot, providing the club with a long‑term solution between the posts.
