Liga F season begins with Barcelona and Real Madrid victories

The new season of the Spanish women's football league, Liga F, has commenced with several notable results. FC Barcelona Femení opened their campaign with a dominant 5-0 victory over Costa Adeje Tenerife at the Johan Cruyff Stadium. Goalscorers included Caroline Graham Hansen, Claudia Pina, Ewa Pajor, Renee van Asten, and Irene Paredes. The match also highlighted the debut of Dutch defender Renee van Asten, who scored in her first start.

In other Liga F action, Real Madrid Femenino secured a 3-2 win against Atlético de Madrid in an intense derby at the Estadio Alfredo di Stéfano, featuring braces from Felicia Schroder and Synne Jensen. Sevilla FCD also started their season successfully with a 1-0 away win against Deportivo, courtesy of a 13th-minute header by Fatou Kanteh, who became one of the first goalscorers of the 2026/27 professional season.

In lower divisions, Victoria CF made their debut in the Segunda RFEF, expressing high ambitions for promotion. Meanwhile, RSD Alcalá won the 59th edition of the Trofeo Cervantes, defeating Real Ávila 2-1 to conclude their pre-season.
