Sevilla police rescue baby from locked car in extreme heat

The National Police in Sevilla rescued a baby from a locked vehicle during extreme heat conditions. A passerby alerted authorities after hearing the infant crying inside a car parked in direct sunlight, where ambient temperatures reached approximately 40 degrees Celsius.

Upon arrival, officers found the infant with a reddened face, soaked clothing, and symptoms of thermal congestion. Police forced entry into the vehicle to retrieve the child, who was subsequently transported by ambulance to a medical center for evaluation.

The parents arrived at the scene and stated they had been shopping at a nearby supermarket. Following initial investigations, the National Police arrested both parents on suspicion of child abandonment.
