Sevilla to add nearly 1,000 public university residence places

Authorities in Sevilla are working to expand the supply of public university residences to address the regional housing crisis. Projects currently underway aim to provide nearly 1,000 new places through initiatives by the Government of Spain and the Provincial Council.

A key component of this plan involves an investment of approximately 6.5 million euros to construct a new residence for Pablo de Olavide University in Montequinto. Located on an 8,000-square-meter plot provided by the Dos Hermanas City Council, the facility is expected to include 219 accommodations, providing up to 490 places. The site is situated near the Metro Europa station.

The Ministry has emphasized that these developments must maintain a public purpose and offer affordable pricing. The maximum price for these residences is intended to include essential services such as electricity, water, and Wi-Fi to support the emancipation of young people.
