Seville Cathedral preserves historical vestments of the Virgin of the Kings

The Instituto Andaluz del Patrimonio Histórico has completed a conservation intervention on the historical 'terno de castillos y leones' belonging to the Virgin of the Kings in Seville. This piece is part of a larger effort to preserve the religious vestments and assets associated with the Virgin.

In addition to the terno, recent conservation work has included the restoration of royal shields from the ancient tombs of Beatriz de Swabia and Alfonso X the Wise, as well as the green mantle of the Virgin of the Kings. These items have been moved from exhibition spaces back into active use for religious services and devotion.
