Seville Mayor addresses tourist bus access and Tranvibús success

Seville Mayor José Luis Sanz has addressed public criticism regarding the temporary authorization of tourist buses entering the city center. Due to construction on Trajano Street, the City Council permitted these buses to access the Plaza del Duque until the end of March to maintain key stops. While the Mayor stated he does not personally support tourist buses entering the historic district, he noted that the measure is part of a trial period and that the city is studying alternative routes.

Sanz denied claims of special privileges for tourists, asserting that residents can access the area via the Tranvibús system. Simultaneously, the Mayor highlighted the significant success of the Tranvibús (TB1) line, which connects Torreblanca and Sevilla Este to the city center. In its first week, the service saw over 102,000 users, making it the third most used Tussam line. Despite this success, Sanz emphasized that the Tranvibús remains a provisional solution until the implementation of Metro Line 2.
