Seville parents arrested after leaving infant in car during 40°C heat
A couple has been arrested in Seville, Spain, after leaving their infant alone in a parked car during extreme heat. The incident occurred at a supermarket parking lot while the parents were shopping.
Despite the exterior temperature reaching 40°C, the vehicle was left in direct sunlight with only a window slightly cracked open. A passerby heard the infant crying and alerted the police. Upon arrival, officers found the baby in a concerning state, with a red face and wet clothing, showing signs of heat distress.
The infant was transported by ambulance to a health center for medical care. The parents were apprehended by authorities upon their return to the vehicle and face charges for the offense of child abandonment.
