Seville police arrest rider after illegal midnight motorcycle gathering

Around 50 motorcyclists rode through Seville in the early hours of Saturday, beginning near Bellavista at about 00:20. They rode without helmets, covered their licence plates and wore balaclavas, filming the ride to upload later. The group split into smaller clusters, travelling along Avenida de la Palmera, Paseo Colón, Torneo and other streets, deliberately provoking police to trigger a chase.

Local police stopped one rider after he fell without colliding with an officer. The arrested rider, an adult, was taken to a police station while his motorcycle was seized; the vehicle belongs to a family member who will also face charges. Officers identified four additional licence plates, linking other participants from nearby towns such as Dos Hermanas and Coria del Río. Many of the riders were minors. The incident mirrors a similar illegal motorcycle rally in Seville in 2024, which also required coordinated action by the police and the Guardia Civil.

Authorities are continuing the investigation to identify all involved riders and to deter future dangerous gatherings.
