Seville police investigate abandoned AK-47 and grenade launcher
The Spanish National Police are investigating the discovery of a war weapon in the Tiro de Línea neighborhood of Seville. On Wednesday, October 15, a resident alerted authorities to an abandoned AK-47 assault rifle equipped with a grenade launcher, which was found partially wrapped in a trash bag on a public street.
Preliminary reports suggest the weapon was discarded from a moving vehicle that had been driving the wrong way. The discovery is believed to be linked to an ongoing anti-drug operation led by the Dos Hermanas police station, which has already resulted in several arrests and searches in areas including the Montequinto neighborhood.
Forensic experts and bomb disposal technicians (TEDAX) are analyzing the weaponry. While the specific details of the firearm remain under investigation, authorities have ruled out any recent shootings in the city. The investigation remains under official secrecy as officers work to identify the owner of the weapon.
