Criminal incidents reported across the Balkan region

Various criminal incidents and police operations have been reported across the Balkan region.

In Croatia, a 46-year-old man was arrested in Zagreb after a high-speed chase involving a BMW and driving under the influence (1.81 g/kg alcohol). In Split, police are investigating the sexual abuse of a 20-year-old prisoner, and a 52-year-old man was found dead in a prison cell. Additionally, police in Zagreb warned of scams targeting elderly citizens in Sesvete and Peščenica.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, a woman was arrested in Bosanska Krupa for the murder of her husband, while in East Sarajevo, Đorđe Ždrale remains a figure of interest following several violent incidents.

In Montenegro, police conducted raids in Bar, Tivat, Kotor, and Herceg Novi, seizing firearms, ammunition, and marijuana. In Nikšić, a man was sentenced to three years in prison for drug trafficking.

In Slovenia, investigators are looking into the murder of an Austrian influencer, focusing on whether the suspect's father and brother assisted in transporting the body. In Germany, a drone carrying explosives was intercepted at Leipzig/Halle airport after a bus driver kicked it down.

In Austria, a Bosnian citizen was sentenced to 18 months in prison for a series of burglaries motivated by his daughter's medical expenses.
