Seychelles and Angola discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation
Seychelles and Angola are seeking to strengthen bilateral cooperation following a meeting between the Angolan Ambassador-designate, Domingos de Almeida Da Silva Coelho, and Seychelles' Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Ian Madeleine.
Key areas of discussion included the enforcement of a General Cooperation Agreement and the potential conclusion of a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA). Such an agreement aims to enhance connectivity, facilitate people-to-people exchanges, and support tourism, trade, and investment between the two nations.
Both countries identified opportunities for technical exchange in sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, agriculture, and the Blue Economy. Additionally, Seychelles expressed interest in leveraging Angola’s expertise in sports to assist in preparations for the upcoming Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG).
