Seychelles hosts ministerial roundtable on talent circulation for island states
Seychelles Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Barry Faure, chaired a Ministerial Roundtable Meeting focused on talent circulation among Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Held in collaboration with PROJECTiQ, the meeting aimed to facilitate informal exchanges on how expertise and knowledge can benefit island nations, whether through permanent return, temporary contribution, or support from abroad.
Minister Faure emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing among SIDS rather than competition for talent. During the session, Seychelles announced its agreement to serve as the Anchor State for PROJECTiQ, a talent circulation network designed for island states. Nichole Esparon, Founder and Chief Executive of PROJECTiQ, noted that the initiative aims to launch its inaugural cohort in 2027.
Participants included representatives from various nations, such as Antigua and Barbuda, to discuss strategic directions for the network.
