Seychelles President and Adventist Mission discuss social welfare

President Dr. Patrick Herminie met with a delegation from the Seventh-day Adventist Mission to discuss collaborative efforts to address social challenges in Seychelles, specifically focusing on drug abuse and family stability.

The discussions centered on how the Church can support national initiatives through community-based programs and prevention efforts. A key proposal involves the establishment of a Family Centre in Seychelles, designed to provide early intervention and strengthen the family unit as a foundation of society.

President Herminie emphasized that addressing the drug situation requires a multi-sectoral approach that goes beyond simple prohibition. He noted the importance of providing young people with positive role models, hope, and tangible opportunities to encourage better decision-making.
