Seydi El Hadji Malick Sy Hospital opens in Tivaouane
The Seydi El Hadji Malick Sy National Hospital Center in Tivaouane officially entered service on Monday, August 10. The facility was inaugurated in a ceremony led by the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Ibrahima Sy, alongside the Minister of Infrastructure, Déthié Fall.
Spanning six hectares with approximately 24,000 square meters of infrastructure, the hospital features a 300-bed capacity and includes 25 medico-surgical services. The project aims to strengthen healthcare capabilities in Tivaouane and improve medical access for the surrounding regions.
Operations will be rolled out progressively to ensure the availability of necessary personnel, equipment, and technical resources. The initial phase of activity will include external consultations, emergency services, a laboratory, medical imaging, and the hospital pharmacy.
