Seydişehir farmer harvests first colorful sweet potato crop

Cemal Güney, a farmer in the Seydişehir district of Konya, has completed the first harvest of sweet potatoes in the region. The crop features four distinct varieties: purple, white, orange, and blue/pink.

South, who has focused on organic and alternative agricultural products for approximately six years, previously cultivated kiwano and bitter melon. He sourced the sweet potato seedlings from Hatay to increase agricultural diversity in the area.

Seydişehir Mayor Hasan Ustaoğlu attended the harvest event to support the initiative. Ustaoğlu noted that the municipality is actively conducting trial productions of 12 different alternative products on municipal lands to bolster the local economy and agricultural variety.
