Seymour Shaw Park $12 million upgrade officially opened

The $12 million stage two upgrade of Seymour Shaw Park in Sutherland Shire has been officially opened. The project, delivered by the Sutherland Shire Council with a $2.9 million state government grant, involved moving over 16,000 cubic metres of earth to create level playing fields.

Key improvements to the park include new multi-use playing fields, a clubhouse, public amenities, a viewing platform, spectator seating, accessible pathways, lighting, cricket nets, landscaping, and off-street parking. The opening ceremony was attended by NSW Premier Chris Minns, Sports Minister Steve Kamper, and Mayor Jack Boyd.

In addition to the park opening, the region celebrated the launch of The Picklr Cronulla, an 11-court indoor pickleball complex in Caringbah. The facility is part of a larger expansion by The Picklr, which aims to establish 50 centres across Australia and New Zealand.
