Sfântu Gheorghe hosts Autumn Fair and Kürtőskalács Festival

The city of Sfântu Gheorghe hosted the 8th Kürtőskalács Festival and the 16th Autumn Fair from September 25 to 27. Held in Liberty Square, the joint event brought together approximately 120 local producers and numerous visitors to celebrate regional gastronomic and cultural traditions.

Key highlights included a competition for the title of ‘Kürtőskalács of the Year in Szeklerland,’ featuring 17 teams from the surrounding counties. Culinary demonstrations featured record-breaking attempts, such as the preparation of a 25-meter-long kürtőskalács and the largest lángos.

The weekend also featured musical performances, folk dances, children's workshops, and outdoor activities, including a bicycle tour and a mushroom-picking hike organized by the László Kálmán Mycology Association.
