Sfântul Maxim Mărturisitorul Choir performs at Szeged festival

The ‘Sfântul Maxim Mărturisitorul’ Choir from the historical ‘Birth of Saint John the Baptist’ Cathedral in Arad participated in the 12th edition of the ‘Te Deum Laudamus’ International Religious Choral Music Festival. Held on October 17, 2026, at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Szeged, Hungary, the event brought together various choral groups to perform sacred music.

Under the direction of Professor Emanuel Gheorghe, the Arad-based choir performed three works from the Romanian religious repertoire: ‘Taina Creștinătății’ (arranged by Ioan Lipovan), ‘Ochiul inimii mele’ (by Augustin Bena), and ‘Ostenit-am’ (by Ioan Șerb, arranged by Mircea Buta). The choir members wore traditional patterned shirts to represent their musical and cultural identity during the international performance.
