Sha’Carri Richardson avoids jail after 104 mph Florida speeding plea

Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, 26, resolved a January traffic stop in Orange County, Florida, by pleading no contest to driving her Aston Martin at 104 mph in a 65‑mph zone. Under the plea deal she avoided jail, was ordered to pay a $500 fine, complete 100 hours of community service and take an eight‑hour driving course. Body‑camera footage captured the stop, during which deputy remarks warned of jail for dangerous speeding. Richardson’s boyfriend, Christian Cole, was also arrested for refusing police orders and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a pipe was found in his car. The athlete previously avoided harsher penalties in a domestic‑violence case, receiving counseling and community service.
