SHAD expands motorcycle product line with new crash bars
Catalan brand SHAD has announced its first line of motorcycle crash bars, marking an expansion of its engineering focus beyond expandable luggage. The initial model is specifically designed for the BMW R 1300 GS adventure motorcycle, with plans to expand the range to other models in the future.
The product line consists of two complementary structures: Upper and Lower. The Upper guards protect the fairing, radiator, and fuel tank, while also serving as a mounting point for additional bags. The Lower guards focus on the engine block, protecting the motor, crankcase, and exhaust manifolds from mechanical damage and oil leaks during impacts.
Constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel, the guards for the BMW R 1300 GS feature a 25 mm diameter tubular structure with 2 mm thickness. The lower bars include nylon and silicone sliders to absorb impact force. The product is available in two finishes, including a silver electrolytic version with a sandblasted and electropolished surface for corrosion resistance.
