Chadi Riad ruled out for season with ACL injury

Crystal Palace defender and Moroccan international Chadi Riad is set to miss the remainder of the season following a diagnosis of a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The injury occurred during a Premier League match against Everton, where the 22-year-old was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher in the 70th minute.

This marks the second major ACL injury of Riad’s career. The setback follows a period of recovery after his initial move to the English club from Barcelona. The injury is expected to sideline him for approximately eight to nine months, impacting both his club availability and his role with the Moroccan national team.

In response to the loss, Crystal Palace has moved to strengthen its defensive line, securing Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea and pursuing Joel Ordóñez from Club Brugge to provide depth for the upcoming campaign.
