Shadow of the Road reveals anime-style trailer with Earthists

Developers Another Angle Games and publisher Owlcat Games have released a new anime-inspired trailer for the upcoming tactical RPG, Shadow of the Road. The trailer features the Japanese hypermetal band Earthists to provide a high-energy soundtrack.

Set in an alternate version of 19th-century Japan following the Battle of Toba-Fushimi, the game follows samurai-turned-rōnin Akira and Satoru. The narrative involves a mission amidst the conflict between the Emperor and the Shōgun, featuring supernatural elements such as gods and yōkai.

Shadow of the Road is a turn-based tactical game where players manage a team of outcasts. The gameplay emphasizes strategic combat and player choices that influence character relationships and story paths. The game is scheduled for release on March 10, 2027.
