Shafiqur Rahman criticizes Mirpur eviction and pledges aid for damaged clinic
Shafiqur Rahman, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of the Opposition in the National Parliament, has expressed concern regarding recent incidents in Mirpur, Dhaka. Following an eviction drive at Hope Market, Rahman criticized authorities for failing to consult the local Member of Parliament, suggesting that coordinated efforts could have better addressed the needs of small business owners and the public.
Additionally, Rahman visited the Radda MCH-FP Center after it was targeted in a violent attack involving vandalism and looting. To assist in restoring medical services for mothers and children, he announced an immediate donation of 5 million BDT from Jamaat-e-Islami. Rahman emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward criminals, stating that anyone involved in the violence must face legal consequences regardless of their political affiliation.
