Jamaican artists Shaggy and Sean Paul continue to dominate the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, remaining the only two dancehall artists represented on the chart so far in 2026. Shaggy’s ‘Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection’ holds the No. 2 position, marking its 381st week on the chart. This achievement ties him with Bob Marley for the most albums by a Jamaican artist to enter the Reggae Albums chart, with 17 titles each.
Sean Paul also maintains a strong presence in the top four. His ‘Dutty Classics Collection’ is at No. 3 with 276 weeks on the chart, while his landmark album ‘Dutty Rock’ holds the No. 4 spot, marking its 334th week.
Amidst this commercial success, Shaggy has addressed the ongoing debate regarding the ‘King of Dancehall’ title. In a recent interview, he emphasized his strategic longevity and global reach, noting that he remains one of the largest streaming figures in the genre. While asserting his own status, he acknowledged that the genre features multiple influential figures, including Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Shabba Ranks, and Sean Paul.
