Shahdol Congress protests delayed 6-crore rupee road construction

The District Congress Committee in Shahdol organized a foot march to protest the dilapidated condition of the road connecting the new bus stand to Indira Chowk. Congress District President Ajay Awasthi led the demonstration, highlighting that the road construction project, valued at 6 crore rupees, has remained incomplete for two months after being excavated.

Protesters are demanding an investigation into the municipal engineer and the contractor responsible for the delay and poor workmanship. They claim the current state of the road is causing significant hardship for local residents and business owners, some of whom face economic instability due to the lack of accessibility.

The Congress party has issued a 15-day ultimatum to the administration. If the road is not made navigable within this timeframe, the committee plans to launch a large-scale protest and indefinite sit-in at Indira Chowk.
