Shai Gilgeous-Alexander eyes historic third consecutive NBA MVP

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has the opportunity to become one of the few players in NBA history to win three consecutive Most Valuable Player awards. If successful, he would join an elite group that includes Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and Larry Bird, marking the first time in 40 years a player has achieved a three-peat.

Gilgeous-Alexander has secured more than 75% of first-place MVP votes over the last two seasons, maintaining an NBA-leading scoring average of 32 points per game during that span. Despite the individual milestone, he stated his primary focus remains on team success and winning championships.

Thunder general manager Sam Presti praised the player's work ethic, discipline, and emotional regulation, noting that his ability to process information and maintain elite performance sets him apart from other players.
