Shailene Woodley wins Emmy for role in ‘Paradise’

Shailene Woodley won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series during the second night of the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Her win is for her role as Annie in the Hulu post-apocalyptic series ‘Paradise’.

This victory marks the first Emmy Award for the series, which received seven nominations this year, including Outstanding Drama Series. Woodley, who was previously nominated in 2017 for ‘Big Little Lies’, expressed her gratitude on stage, describing the industry as a ‘circus’ of ‘amazing traveling storytelling clowns’.

Backstage, Woodley discussed her character’s qualities, noting that she admires Annie’s resiliency and calculated patience. She competed in the category against Brittany Allen, Tal Anderson, Tina Ivlev, Miriam Shor, and Merritt Wever.
