Shake Your Heart wins Sapporo Kinen with course record

Shake Your Heart, ridden by jockey Yoshihiro Furukawa, won the 62nd Sapporo Kinen (G2) at Sapporo Racecourse on August 16. The 3rd favorite horse secured its third graded stakes victory with a course record time of 1 minute 58.2 seconds, surpassing the previous record set in 2008.

In a field of 16 horses, Shake Your Heart utilized a strong late surge from the outside to overtake the leaders in the final straight. Sakura Pharrell, the 5th favorite, finished in second place, while the 10th favorite, Lady'ness, took third.

Shake Your Heart is a six-year-old male sired by Heart's Cry. This victory follows previous graded stakes wins in the Chunichi Shimbun Hai (G3) and the Tokai TV Hai Kinko Sho (G2).
