Shakira and AWS launch AI training initiative for Latin American women

Through her Pies Descalzos Foundation, Colombian singer Shakira is participating in ‘AWS Entrena Latinas’, a collaborative program with Amazon Music, Amazon Web Services, and Laboratoria. The initiative aims to provide free training in artificial intelligence and cloud computing to one million Latin American women by 2028.

The program will begin in Colombia, targeting students and mothers associated with the Pies Descalzos Foundation. Participants will have access to fundamental courses and AWS certifications to enhance their professional opportunities, particularly in sectors connecting music and technology.

This initiative is part of the ‘Women Help with Amazon Music’ effort, which seeks to address the gender gap in the technology sector, where women currently hold approximately 26% of positions.
