Shakira and Brazilian artists receive major music award nominations

Several prominent musical artists have received nominations for major upcoming awards ceremonies. Shakira has earned four nominations for the BreakTudo Awards 2026 in Brazil, including International Female Artist and International Hit of the Year for ‘Dai Dai’. She is also nominated twice in the Latin Hit of the Year category for ‘Algo Tu’ and ‘Choka Choka’. Public voting for this ceremony is open until October 17, 2026, with the winners to be announced in São Paulo on November 24.

In addition, Brazilian artists are well-represented in the 27th Latin Grammy Awards. Anitta has been nominated for Album of the Year with ‘EQUILIBRIVM’ and for Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese. Other notable Brazilian nominees include Loulu Gilberto, who is up for Record of the Year and Best New Artist; Urias, competing in Best Rock or Alternative Music Album in Portuguese and Best Portuguese Language Song; Marina Sena, nominated for Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese; Marisa Monte, nominated for Best Portuguese Language Song; and Zanna, nominated for Song of the Year.
