Shakira and Gerard Piqué attend court in Barcelona

Shakira and Gerard Piqué appeared together in a Barcelona court to review and adjust the visitation agreement for their two children. The legal proceedings follow their separation four years ago.

Shakira’s legal representatives proposed changes to the current travel arrangements to protect the children’s emotional, physical, and academic well-being. The singer requested a reduction in the frequency of transatlantic flights required for the children to travel between Miami, where they reside, and Barcelona. Instead, she proposed that Piqué travel to Miami during holidays to help the children maintain a consistent routine and minimize the impact of jet lag and schedule disruptions.

Representatives for Piqué noted that the existing 2022 agreement already includes provisions for him to visit Miami once a month for nine days. The current terms also allow the children to travel to Barcelona during specific school breaks, such as Thanksgiving and spring holidays, to ensure they do not miss school or extracurricular activities. Both parties left the court separately following the hearing.
