Shakira appears in Brazil jersey and drops Portuguese version of World Cup 2026 anthem

Colombian pop star Shakira posted an Instagram story wearing the Brazil national team’s away kit, surprising fans who know her as a longtime supporter of Colombia. The outfit was part of the promotion for a new Portuguese‑language version of her official World Cup 2026 song “Dai Dai”, recorded with Brazilian performers Léo Santana and Filipe Ret.

The original “Dai Dai” – a collaboration with Afrobeat artist Burna Boy – already enjoys global success and mixes English, Spanish, French and Japanese lyrics, mentioning football icons such as Messi, Ronaldo and Pelé and even the word “Germany”. The new remix celebrates Brazil’s football fervour and was first showcased during Shakira’s May 2026 concert in Rio de Janeiro, where she also wore the Brazilian shirt.

The release aims to boost the song’s visibility ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
