Shakira bids farewell to Uganda's Ghetto Kids after World Cup final

Colombian singer Shakira performed with Uganda's dance group Ghetto Kids during the FIFA World Cup 2026 final and then spent several days with them off‑stage. She took the children to the beach for the first time in their lives, shared meals with family and friends, and posted a series of photos and a heartfelt Instagram message.

In the post Shakira wrote that the days were filled with “inexplicable love,” thanked each child by name, and said she loved them “as if they were my own children.” She urged that every child deserves love and care. Later the Ghetto Kids released a video inviting Shakira to visit Uganda, highlighting sites such as the Nile’s source, but she has not yet responded.
