Shakira launches World Cup 2026 playlist amid opening ceremony performance

Colombian singer Shakira released a 27‑track playlist titled "Shakira – As Melhores da Copa" on 12 June, celebrating the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The collection features the tournament’s official song "Dai Dai", a collaboration with Nigerian artist Burna Boy, which rose to #13 on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart after the opening ceremony.

At the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca, Shakira and Burna Boy performed "Dai Dai" alongside a lineup of Latin music acts. The show, which also included artists such as Lila Downs, Maná, Belinda, Danny Ocean, and J Balvin, drew criticism for its brief duration and extensive use of playback, but highlighted the cultural diversity of the host nations. The performance contributed to a surge in streams for the official song, reinforcing Shakira’s long‑standing association with past World Cups.
