Shakira Performs FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Song in Mexico City

Colombian pop star Shakira teamed with Nigerian artist Burna Boy to debut the official FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem “Dai Dai” during the opening ceremony on 11 June at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium. The performance opened the tournament co‑hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and featured a lineup of Latin and global artists.

“Dai Dai” is promoted as a unifying anthem in five languages, with revenue from the song intended to fund FIFA’s education projects for disadvantaged children, targeting a $100 million fund. Shakira previously performed at World Cup ceremonies in 2006, 2010 and 2014, making this her fourth World Cup musical contribution.
