Shakira bids emotional farewell to Ghetto Kids and invites them to Madrid

Colombian singer Shakira shared an emotional video after the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show, embracing Uganda’s Ghetto Kids dance troupe and promising they will remain friends forever. She said she will call them when they return to Uganda and that her sons Milan and Sasha will also call the children. Shakira invited the group to join her upcoming shows in Madrid, where she will hold a residency for her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" tour.

Shakira also explained why she chose Nigerian singer Burna Boy for the official World Cup anthem "Dai Dai". She said the song’s Afro‑beat style needed a strong masculine voice to match the tournament’s “big male energy”. After a three‑week wait for Burna Boy to send his verse, she described his contribution as “perfect” and essential to the track. The anthem was performed at the opening ceremony in Mexico City and again at the final halftime show in New Jersey.
