Shakira receives FIFA gift as 'Dai Dai' song dominates World Cup 2026 hype

Colombian singer Shakira, together with Nigerian artist Burna Boy, created "Dai Dai," the official song for the FIFA World Cup 2026 co‑hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The track blends Latin, African and urban styles, and its video features football stars such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland. The song has generated massive online attention, with a fan‑made video of Rihanna’s god‑daughter Anisa dancing to the choreography reaching more than 1.6 million views.

During the tournament’s final match, Shakira met FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who presented her with an autographed ball and a collection of the 2026 edition’s national crests. Infantino praised her for playing a key role in uniting people through music and football, and confirmed she will perform "Dai Dai" at halftime of the final at New York‑New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
