Shakira to Perform at FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony in Mexico City

FIFA has confirmed that Colombian singer Shakira will headline the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on 11 June in Mexico City. The event will showcase music, culture and tradition as part of the tournament jointly hosted by Mexico, the United States and Canada.

Ahead of the ceremony, Shakira posted a behind‑the‑scenes video of the official World Cup song “Dai Dai”, recorded with Burna Boy. The clip reveals rehearsal footage, costume changes and a dance segment with Uganda’s Ghetto Kids, highlighting the artist’s energetic presence at age 49 and the multicultural vibe the tournament aims to promote.
