Shakira to headline halftime show at 2026 World Cup final

Colombian pop star Shakira will headline the first-ever halftime show in a FIFA World Cup final, which will be staged at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 19 July 2026. The 11‑minute performance will feature a roster of international acts, including Madonna, Justin Bieber, BTS, Burna Boy and a special appearance by the Ugandan dancing troupe The Ghetto Kids, as part of FIFA’s Global Citizen Education Fund initiative.

In the weeks leading up to the final, Shakira released a Spanish‑language version of the tournament’s official anthem “Dai Dai”, a collaboration with Burna Boy that debuted in English earlier in the tournament. She promoted the track on social media, sharing a lyric excerpt and a video of the new version.

The singer also posted an Instagram tribute to Argentina captain Lionel Messi and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, praising Messi’s dedication and the couple’s support. Additionally, Colombian producer Julio Correal was noted as part of the production team for the halftime spectacle. Media speculation highlighted former partner Gerard Piqué and his current girlfriend Clara Chía potentially attending the final, adding further celebrity interest to the event.
