Shakira's World Cup anthem 'Dai Dai' tops global Spotify and Billboard charts

Colombian singer Shakira, together with Burna Boy, recorded "Dai Dai," the official song for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The track reached the number‑one position on both the Billboard Global 200 and Spotify’s Global Songs chart, becoming the first World Cup anthem to achieve that milestone. The song’s success was driven by massive streaming numbers – over 500 million plays worldwide – and contributed to FIFA’s Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million for education projects.

Shakira’s achievement also highlighted her status as the most‑listened‑for Latin American female artist on the platform, surpassing 99 million monthly listeners. She performed the song at the tournament’s opening ceremony and is set to appear in the halftime show of the final alongside Madonna and BTS. The World Cup 2026 will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
