Shakti Singh Yadav blames money power in Bihar's Bangkipur by-election

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav said the Bangkipur assembly by‑election in Bihar was dominated by money power, accusing the state government and the Bharatiya Janata Party of using wealth to weaken democratic values. He noted the low voter turnout as a sign of public dissatisfaction and asserted that RJD contested the poll “in a fully democratic manner” and expects its candidate to win.

Yadav also raised the Bharat Tiwari encounter case, alleging that only a constable has been arrested while higher‑ranking officials who allegedly ordered the shooting are being protected. He described the encounter as “fake”, demanded a thorough investigation and said the responsible officers must be held accountable.
