Shakumudo releases new single ‘Balloon’ with music video filmed in Mongolia

Creative Lab Shakumudo, consisting of composer Hattory and vocalist uka, has released their third digital single titled ‘Balloon’ (Fusen) on August 26. The release marks a shift from their previous avant-garde musical style toward a more pop-oriented sound.

The accompanying music video, directed by Fujimura Hiyori, was filmed against the expansive landscapes of Mongolia. The production features contributions from Takashi Kashiwakura on drums and Shige Murata on bass, blending dramatic piano with uka’s vocals to create a soundscape described as both precise and expansive.

Hattory noted that the song explores the loneliness and lingering emotions felt at the end of a day, while director Fujimura Hiyori commented on the emotional experience of filming in the warm, natural environment of Mongolia.
