Shakur Stevenson Demands Devin Haney Vacate WBO Title Before Potential Fight
WBO super‑lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson said he will only move forward with a bout against WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney if Haney relinquishes his belt. Stevenson posted on X, "Drop the belt and let’s make it happen then what’s the hold up Billy boy," raising a new condition for their previously discussed 144‑pound catch‑weight fight.
Stevenson also voiced interest in a unification clash with current WBA super‑lightweight champion Gary Antuanne Russell, describing Russell as a fighter who would "bring the best out of me". At the same time, Haney faces a mandatory defense against Keyshawn Davis, a friend of Stevenson’s, adding complexity to any potential matchup.
