Shalatin Mineral Resources Company increases gold production by 9.6%
Shalatin Mineral Resources Company reported a 9.6% year-on-year increase in gold production for the first nine months of 2026, exceeding 850 kilograms. This growth was driven by increased output from companies operating within the company’s concession areas and the expansion of artisanal mining activities in the Eastern Desert.
As a result of higher production, gold supplies to the Central Bank of Egypt rose to approximately 850 kilograms, up from 775 kilograms during the same period last year. In the third quarter of 2026 alone, the company delivered roughly 260 kilograms, representing about 31% of the total nine-month volume.
The company expects production to continue growing in the fourth quarter, with projections between 250 and 280 kilograms. Long-term objectives include reaching an annual production target of approximately 6 tons by 2030 through enhanced exploration and the development of new mining complexes, such as the gold and silver extraction complex in Aswan.
