Indian actor Shalini Pandey has issued a public clarification regarding a fabricated AI-generated video using her likeness that has been circulating on social media. Describing the content as ‘completely fabricated’, Pandey stated the video does not depict her and expressed that the incident is ‘deeply disturbing’.

Pandey condemned the misuse of artificial intelligence to target individuals, specifically noting the impact on women. She urged social media users not to share, download, or forward the video, advising instead that they report the content through the appropriate platform channels to prevent the spread of misinformation.

The incident follows a trend of Indian celebrities, including Rashmika Mandanna, Alia Bhatt, and Deepika Padukone, being targeted by deepfake technology. These occurrences have prompted ongoing discussions regarding privacy, consent, and the need for stronger safeguards against generative AI misuse.
